Why Does my Vagina Smell? - Serious?

It%26#039;s been about 5 years that my Vagina has had this reek odour. I have had a test done last year it showed Gram Negative bacteria, the doctor gave me pills for it. (Gram Negative Bac is usually urinary track cases) The smell didn%26#039;t go away. Even today it still smells and it%26#039;s a foul odour. It doesn%26#039;t smell like Periods (I%26#039;m on birthcontrol started last year so I don%26#039;t get periods) it smells like the Mucus is rotty.

The doctors did a recent test about a month ago with a swab but they found NOTHING! The doctor is sending me to a Gynocologist to have further testings.

If anyone has any information on why Vaginas may smell, please help me because it%26#039;s a very foul odour.

I sleep naked, and I rarely wear anything but cotton. My diet consists of

40% Startch

20% Veges/Fruits

20% Meat

10% Dairy

10% Water/Sugar

Please reply to this if you have any knowledge about this situation.

Thanks,

Why Does my Vagina Smell? - Serious?
Well do you clean real good down there? If you dont...the dead bacteria that isnt cleaned will stay there and start to rot and smell....i know this from a experience..i never really used to clean down there..but ever since i have...there is no odor.

EDIT: okay...when i had a smell in my vagina...it smelled horrible! and some people said that if you have a smell that means you have an infection...but i couldnt tell if it was because of my discharge or just my vagina....but one lady said that if you dont clean it...it will start to smell. so its not always the discharge...one day i cleaned it...and there was no odor....and it wasnt my discharge. i also do have a habit of not completely wiping the urine off.....so thats dead bacteria left on your vagina...clean it off...and when you shower...you dont need soap unless you want to..but it may irritate your vagina....i use it....and it helps. and so just use water and soap...or just water and use your cloth that you clean with and gently wipe down there....and the next day...if it still smells...then i dont know...your doctor says there is no infection...but yeah. also you need to eat more yogurt!!!!! it will help alot! eat yogurt with live cultures in it...because there is this culture in it...like like lactbacillus or bifidus something like that.l..and i looked it up on the internet...and it said these cultures are already found naturally on a vagina and in our mouthes....if they are found naturally on our vagina...then they are good...they are there for a reason...so get some yogurt with those 2 cultures in it!! drink lots of water to flush out your system! stop eating so much starch and eat more veggies and fruits. improve your diet...those 2 cultures i really did look up one time...and they are good....although i am not too comfortable knowing that in my yogurt there are some living things crawling around in there...but they are good for the body...most yogurts has these cultures in it....so yeahh but check the ingredients!

i hope this helps!!!
Reply:I respect your question--it%26#039;s nothing to pick fun at. Just looking at your diet though, I would say that your fruits and vegetables needs to be increased to about 50% of your diet. Reason? Because fruits and vegetables have natural acids and enzymes that actually refresh your body and can--miraculously enough--astringe your vagina.

Also, make sure that you are drinking a TON of water. At least 100 ounces a day. It sounds like your body is trying to flush, but not doing a great job of it. Also, are your kidneys in good health? It sounds like too many toxins are being left in your system. The water increase should help with that.

Also, my mother taught me to always drink a a few glasses of cranberry juice whenever my body wasn%26#039;t as fresh as I wanted (ie after my period, after an illness, etc). The cranberry juice astringes the urinary tract--which helps improve the scent of your body. Lots of doctors recommend drinking cranberry juice for urinary tract health.

I hope this helps. I can see how this would be a very embarrassing and frustrating problem.
Reply:try washing it
Reply:Have you tried to Douche?? Hmmm... I dont know what to tell you sweetie.... I hope the Dr. can figure something out. Good Luck!

Reply:Some women just have strong scents. There is a product called Rephresh that is a gel that you insert and it%26#039;s supposed to stop the smell. I have used it, it definitely lessens the strong scent.
Reply:Do not douche no matter what anyone tells you! (it will only upset the balance inside you). Only wash the outer with mild soap and water and rinse well. You can by FDS spray to help if you are a self conscious that others can smell this. Keep following up with your GYN it could be something serious. Yogurt and cranberry juice in your diet can help with bladder and yeast infection issues.

If you are sexually active male ejaculate inside can cause odors (try having him pull out or use a condom). Try using pads instead of tampons. Definatly keep allowing air to get down there. Is it worse in the summer? If so try going without any undies at all.
Reply:Zinc is very helpful in controlling excess body odors....take some orally each day. Also, make sure you are eating yogurt with active cultures or if you don%26#039;t like yogurt then take lactobacillus pills each day...that will help keep a healthy PH balance in your vagina. Finally, don%26#039;t use any special douches or cleansers or scented tampons/mini pads.Take a bath each day rather than a shower...wash the outside part down there with an antibaterial soap like Dial.
Reply:First thing-change your detergent to something like All %26quot;Free%26quot;. Detergents can do this to me as well.

Second thing-what are you washing w/? Go a week washing down %26#039;there%26#039; with just water. Soaps, even scent/allergen free types do this to me as well. Be careful not to let any body washes get down there.
Reply:The following medical conditions are some of the possible causes of Vaginal odor. There are likely to be other possible causes, so ask your doctor about your symptoms.

Vaginal discharge

Normal vaginal odor

Vaginal infection

Foreign body in vagina

Forgotten tampon

Lodged condom

Lodged contraceptive device

Sensitivity to odor - some women notice their odor when there is no notable odor detected by others.

Vaginal cancer

Cervix cancer

Uterine cancer

Bowel cancer
Reply:You are going to think I am nuts...but here it goes. I has the same problem as you and everyone barked %26#039;go to your doctor%26#039;...well, after 14 looking at me like I had a 3rd head, I started to do my own research.

Mine stopped after doing a parasite cleanse and I also don%26#039;t have seasonal allergies anymore! I also started taking probiotics to build my immune system back up.

GOOD LUCK! :)
Reply:Being you%26#039;ve had this smell for the last 5 years, it%26#039;s more than likely your normal vaginal smell and you%26#039;re just sensitive to it. Every vagina and it%26#039;s secretions have a smell and to most women they think it doesn%26#039;t smell good.

If you%26#039;ve had it tested and nothing is wrong from the doctor%26#039;s POV, then there%26#039;s nothing you can do about it. Sometimes taking in more citrus juices/fruits can make it sweeter and eating yogurt more frequently can combat any yeast and the smell it comes with, but other than that you%26#039;re probably going to deal with it.
