Does anybody know where I can find a pattern to make a Christmas treet skirt?

I am 23 and trying to learn how to sew, my first project was a blanket for my daughter. That was pretty simple. My next project is a tree skirt, I was going to have my aunt help because she knew how to sew very well until she died very recently. Now I am stuck I do not have a pattern or anything. I do not know where to begin. I already have my fabric it is just a thin cotton fabric and I got a felt backing for it (the lady at wal-mart helped me) I just do not know how to cut it or how do make it. Please help.

Does anybody know where I can find a pattern to make a Christmas treet skirt?
Well, it%26#039;s really just a big circle. You can make a pattern yourself with leftover newspaper. Think of it as a big pie cut into pieces. It all depends on the size of your Christmas tree, but it is so easy to make that you really don%26#039;t even need a pattern.

Remember, a big circle, with pieces like a pie. Sew the top and bottom separate, then sew them together inside out. Leave a little hole to turn it outside-in and sew the little hole up and you%26#039;re done!

Hope I helped! Good Luck!!!

It also includes instructions for a mantel scarf, in case you have a need for that! Happy Holidays.
Reply:Jo Ann Fabrics is a good place to go or any arts and crafs store with fabrics..... thats were i got the pattern for my prom dress.....
Reply:Is it possible to use the fabric for something else? Maybe a stocking or place settings for the kitchen table. The reason I ask, if because the simplest thing that I know for a tree skirt is a round table cloth. You would fold it in half, and cut the middle out, in a semi-circle (maybe trace something). Then cut a straight line (it%26#039;s easier if you cut along the fold) and sew up all the places you cut. just fold it down about a 1/4 inch and sew a simple straight line from the outside edge all the way around the circle in the middle back down to the other edge. now of stockings or place mats, just trace something you already have, cut and sew. it%26#039;s easy. good luck.
Reply:try hobby lobby or michaels. I think walmart usually carries a simple pattern too around the holidays. Really all of you need to do is make a circle, and cut one side down the radius. Dont know how technical you want to get with it, but that is really all it is, a circle. Good luck to you!
